The Ultimate Feminist Etsy Guide: This Stuff Is Golden

Welcome to mid-April! It’s been a cold, long, rainy one here in London. But it’s the weekend, our favourite day, so it’s time to get under your blanket, get some tea, and do your favourite Saturday reading.

As chilly and gloomy as it might be, this hasn’t stopped any of our wonderful ladies. We’ve had our friend from Chloe Chats celebrate in the UK blog awards voted as The highly commended blogger for the wellbeing category. Congratulations Chloe! We’ve also had our absolute badass Abby from ALJ make an amazing magazine full of empowered women.

And it definitely hasn’t stopped this week’s feature!

This Stuff Is Golden

Meet Lauren.  A mother, activist, and feminist. As a vocal feminist, Lauren advocates for a number of issues faced by women today such as mental health, and image-based sexual abuse, as well as supporting a number of campaigns such as the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements. She has a blog where you can read about all about what she stands for.

On top of being a very vocal feminist, Lauren brings out her creativity and passion for feminism through her Etsy Shop. I wanted to find out more about This Stuff Is Golden and the feminist-inspired woman behind the creations.

Can you describe your shop in 3 words?

Zines, collage, art

What is feminism to you?

Feminism is everything to me. I only wish I had realised what feminism is and what it means to me a lot earlier.

How does your shop look to empower people? Particularly women and children?

I hope that the messages inside my zines or within the art that I make empower or inspire whoever buys them (though they are directed more towards women). I also hope that they inspire others to make their own art, to express themselves however they can!

Is there any social issue that you would like to bring attention to?

How all feminists should be intersectional. As well as biphobia, homophobia, mental illness.

Do you have a favourite empowering Etsy shop? Give them a shout out!

A really brilliant Etsy shop is Letters To An Island I loved the Sapphic Issue 2. Look forward to buying more of her vines!

4 businesses will be added to the guide each month, so by the end of the year, we will have the ultimate feminist Etsy guide.

  1. It has been quite a gloomy April, the weather hasn’t been too fab! Ahh thank you so much for the mention, I honestly wouldn’t be able to do this whole blogging thing without the lovely, supportive and encouraging blogger community and those bloggers that I now class as my friends too ❤

I've had a look on Lauren's blog and I'm loving it, she is so creative and talented, I love the little Mini Art Zine's!
