The Ultimate Feminist Etsy Guide: Cara’s Corner Creations

This week’s Ultimate Feminist Etsy Guide features one of our own. You may know her as that cat-loving, pink-haired mermaid from Twitter. Also known as Cara Lisette!

Cara’s Corner Creations

And did you know Cara has an adorably kick ass Etsy store? That’s right. As a mental health advocate, Cara runs Cara’s Creations to advocate for mental health in one of the most creative and comforting ways.

Just as the Ultimate Feminist Etsy Guide brings attention to all types of women, giving these amazing women a platform to represent themselves and what they believe in is also something that this guide aims to do.

I asked Cara more about the feminist side of her business, to see how she aims to inspire and empower women.

Can you describe your shop in 3 words?

Kind, cute, motivational.

What is feminism to you?

Feminism is about equality, people who have more raising up people who have less and fighting for a better, safer and more tolerant world.

How does your shop look to empower people? Particularly women and children?

As a lot of my items are about mental health, I hope that I can empower people in their recovery and motivate them to be kinder to themselves. I also have a couple of feminist items with female empowerment messages and I am planning to add more in the future.

Is there any social issue that you would like to bring attention to?

Mental health awareness. I know that mental health is spoken about much more these days but there is still huge amounts of stigma around and that ultimately leads to people not being able to access the care they need.

Do you have a favourite empowering Etsy shop? Give them a shout out!

There’s a shop called Lana’s Basket who sell cutlery with eating disorder recovery and motivational phrases imprinted into the metal. After years of admiring them, I finally bought myself something in a recent sale and I’m so excited for it to arrive! Plus they donate a portion of the funds to charity which is great.

Thank you to Cara for letting us know more about the inspirational woman behind Cara’s Corner Creations.

  1. This was the loveliest post and I’m so happy to have discovered the series! Cara was a big motivation to keep talking about mental health through my own Etsy business, as it all began from picking up a crochet hook in hospital ❤

There are so many EXTRAORDINARY females out there starting businesses and 'march meet the maker' on IG really highlighted this for me – along with your series! I've named a few of my recent crochet animals after my faovueitre literary females – Matilda Wormwood, Molly Weasley and Mildred Hubble – so i'd love to think of more ways i can promote female power.

You've definitely inspired me, so thank you!!! xxxx

  2. Once again, I am ready to spend money that I do not have. I have an obsession with stickers. I WANT THEM ALL!! I love the awareness for Mental Health and I LOVE her definition of empowerment. I think it’s amazing to see those with more power standing up with and for those with less. ❤
