The Ultimate Feminist Etsy Guide: Delicious Monster Tea

It’s been a rough week for the world, and sadly, nearing the end of the best month of the year. While we celebrated women’s day, the first days of spring, and several badass business ladies.

To continue celebrating the wonderful women within our community, today’s feature involves Claire, owner of Delicious Monster Tea

Delicious Monster Tea

Juggling Delicious Monster Tea alongside a full-time job, a life full of planning, organising, and still having some time for an occasional long bath

Claire started Delicious Monster Tea completely by accident after teaching herself embroidery in early 2016. Inspired by all the embroidery artists on Instagram, and after creating a lot of hoops herself, Claire had vague plans to set up an Etsy shop selling embroidery hoops. It was one time in Amsterdam where she saw an embroidered t-shirt which then inspired her to make her own!

It was one day that Claire was in a coffee shop wearing one of her own tops when someone asked her where she had got it. The same day, she set up her Etsy and Instagram, and the rest is history!

Then something incredible happened… In 2017, Fearne Cotton posted a photo of one of Claire’s T-shirts on Instagram and, well, you can imagine what happened next. Claire was able to take Delicious Monster tea full time in 2018. Inspirational or what?

I asked Claire more about the feminist behind the creator of Delicious Monster Tea to let the world know how she aims to support and inspire every day women.

Describe Delicious Monster Tea shop in 3 words

Hand embroidered sass!

What does feminism mean to you?

Equality for everyone, no matter what your sex, gender, race, age, sexuality, ability, size. Everyone deserves the right to live their happiest life, and feminism is striving for the goal of balance and equality.

How does your shop look to empower women?

A large majority of the orders I receive are for personalised t-shirts with empowering words / phrases / quotes on them. I hope that by wearing one of these t-shirts, people feel just a tiny bit stronger to face the world and stand up for what they believe in.

  1. Each time you share another shop I saw “this is my favourite” and then you post another and it trumps it! You just seem to find the best of the best of Etsy stores Lav. I love plain yet statements Tee’s and these are perfect. Maybe need to add one to my birthday wish list? The phrase “hand embroidered sass” really made me laugh and it makes me love this woman and her store more! Another incredible post by an incredible woman about an incredible store!
